This is the worst logo I've ever seen.
Could it be less specific? I thought it was for this inauguration... And titling it on it's side in no way compensates for how incredibly bland it is.

Wilpons, please... take notes.
Important things to include in a logo promoting your sports team's first season at a new facility:
- Team name
- Stadium name
- Something distinctive about your team. Which I believe is, um, the whole point of a "logo".
That looks very similar to the Sams Club logo.
ReplyDeleteIt kind of reminded me of Enron's logo, which is interesting because they are both frauds.
ReplyDeleteWills correct about the Sams Club Logo. And thats funny because the Mets are a cheap not as good version of the real NY baseball team similar to Sam's Choice products.
ReplyDeleteI may be getting ahead of myself, but I have a feeling this is the first of about two dozen epic failures in store for the Mets and their fans in 09.
ReplyDeleteI got it. It is a cross between the Sams Club and Dominos logos
ReplyDeleteIt's a patch, just a patch.
ReplyDeleteFriend of the blog, The Sports Hernia, has some fun with the logo also...

I like the last one, personally...
Mmmm.... Pizza....
ReplyDeleteMore F-ing crap! And to think some moron or moronic commitee had to approve this. I could design a better patch while removing my appendix with or without anesthesia
ReplyDeleteJust another example of how the client gets in the way of a good thing. I'm sure the choices that were submitted by the ad agency were nothing like the piece of poopy the client finally approved!
ReplyDelete@ 10:07 Anon: You're probably spot on. I can just see the creatives on the other site of the focus group glass tweaking out about the choice the client made.
ReplyDelete/been there
