Posnanski's blog is almost always a fun read. I tend to agree with your view on the A-Rod/McGwire apologies. Sort of like the difference between a 2003 Ford sedan and a 2004 Mercury sedan -- not much to distinguish one from the other.
My problem with all these apologies is that I don't feel especially hurt so don't feel like I need an apology from these guys. If I was that salesman that Billy Martin slugged in the elevator, I might want an apology. And some money.
I don't think he addressed your main issue, which isn't the difference between the apologies, it's that for McGwire he said that people shouldn'tbe judging the apologies, but for Rodriguez he jumped right into the judging.
Civil discourse between bloggers? What is this world coming to? Where is Dave Barryesque arguing style when you need it?

He made some decent points, but I'm glad he conceded for the most part.
