I know, man. If you were taking bets on who would lead the Yankees in basically every offensive category at this point in the season, I don't think too much money would have been on Johnny Damon.
ReplyDeleteDamon has been unbelievable. I'd hate to even think where the team would be without him. He's bound to come back to earth at some point, and let's not forget that he's playing with a bum shoulder.
ReplyDeleteHe's smartly campaigning to come back next year now, while he's putting up monster numbers. I've seen at least 3 articles in the past couple weeks where he's talked about wanting to come back. In the most recent one I believe he said he doesn't expect to be back.
I'm not opposed to him being on the 2010 team, but if he thinks he's getting a 3 or 4 year deal he's talking about, he's out of his mind. Doesn't he remember that wanting that extra year is what drove him out of Boston?
